Chocolate Strawberry Dowiches

by Byrne
(New Jersey)

The recipe is something I came up with over Christmas break a couple years ago with my family. It was such a fun day and such a delicious recipe, we've made it a tradition to make it every year. Last year, the dog ate all of the brownie rings and we had to make more, but it only made for a more interesting story!

(Makes 24 rings or 12 dowiches)

For the brownies:

1 cup brownie mix

1 banana

2 spoonfuls greek yogurt

2 tablespoons milk

For the icing:

1 stick of softened butter

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

2 cups powder sugar

7-8 diced strawberries

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit, and grease a mini donut pan. If you do not have a mini donut pan, you can use a muffin tin and fill it to about half of an inch.

Combine the brownie mix, banana, greek yogurt, and milk. Pour this into the pan, and bake for 10-13 minutes.

While the dowiches are baking, combine the butter, powdered sugar and cocoa powder to make the icing.

When the brownie dowiches are cool, spread some icing on one of the halves, place some diced strawberry on the icing, and top it with the second ring.
