My cooking tips are all about how to eat healthier and at the same time cheaper food - for very busy people, that have very little time to spend in the kitchen.
• Use food processor or chopper to chop the vegetables, especially onion, garlic and fresh herbs. I find this way to be the fastest to make the preparations. The best chopper, in my opinion, has to be very easy to use and is one that has the lid that opens easily and you can add more ingredients into it without a struggle.
• Slow cooker is the most time saving appliance. Mostly it takes under 10 minutes to assemble the dish. Then plug it and let the slow cooker to do all the work for you. It absolutely doesn’t require any extra work or effort from you.
• Soups, stews, slow cooked meats are suitable for freezing. Cook a little bit more over the weekend, eat and divide the leftovers to portions and then freeze them. You won’t compromise on taste, quality or nutrients. Frankly, it will take the stress out of a few weekday dinners. Not to mention the fact that it’s cheaper and healthier than any take-out or frozen pre-made foods.
Cheers, Victoria Paikin
