If you have friends for dinner today, try this herbs and cream cheese dip. Just assemble fresh vegetables on a platter, put dip in the middle and you're on the right way to an unforgettable party.
1 package of cream cheese, at room temperature
1/3 cup buttermilk or any other kind of plain yogurt
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 garlic cloves
1 cup (about 1 bunch) leaves and stalks of cilantro or parsley or both
salt, pepper to taste
In a chopper - chop first of all garlic and then add to it herbs that you roughly cut into 3 parts and chop again.
Add the rest of ingredients.
Chop until it gets smooth and transfer to the serving dish.
Put into refrigerator to set for at least 45 minutes or into the freezer for 10 minutes.
My very crunchy “Twist”: add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans. Trust me, after you try this dip you will understand that good eating doesn’t require long preparation time.
My extra flavorful “Twist”: as usual I encourage people to be creative with their food. Take the base of this recipe and use it with any other herbs you like. Mix everything or use only one kind of herbs. This recipe will be fabulous anyway.
