Double Trouble Chocolate Brownies

by Melissa Guyer
(Celebration, Fl)

Ingredients

10 Tablespoons butter
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Melt butter and chocolate together in saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat to slightly cool.

Place egg whites in a bowl and whip on high speed to medium-stiff peak, add sugar and continue to whip until fluffy consistency.

Beat whole egg and vanilla together. Temper the chocolate mixture slowly into egg.

Sift dry ingredients together and add to chocolate mixture until well combined.

Fold in egg whites until well incorporated. Pour batter into prepared 13×9 pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes – do not over bake! Cool on rack, cut into 24 brownies.
