This easy banana bread recipe has the most authentic banana flavor.
3-4 big bananas
¾ cup granulated sugar
75g melted butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1. Preheat your oven to 350F (180C).
2. In a bowl mash bananas and then mix them with sugar, melted butter and egg.
3. Add the rest of dry ingredients to the wet ingredients as you are mixing and then mix them together (don’t over mix).
4. Pour your mixture into greased English cake pan.
5. Pop the pan into the oven for approximately 40 to 45 minutes, or until knife inserted into the center comes out clean (it's going to be quite dark bread but very tasty).
To add extra crunchy “Twist” to this recipe: add ½ cup of walnuts or pecans.
For extra flavorful and texture “Twist”: you can add ½ cup of raisins.
I have a list of cheap recipes and this one is on top of my list. I usually use frozen bananas. I have a preschooler son and he eats ½ of banana, the other ½ I'm freezing. I'm also freezing bananas that started to be brownish and nobody wants to eat them.
To make a gluten free “Twist”: substitute the all purpose flour with same amount of chickpea flour.
