Easy Chili Recipe

Easy Chili Recipe

This easy chili recipe is my family's favorite.

2 tablespoons frying oil

1 big onion, chopped in a chopper

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 pound (454g) lean ground beef

2 (16 ounce) cans of kidney, pinto or black beans, drained and rinsed

2 ½ cups Salsa - thick & chunky

1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1. In a cooking pan heat oil to medium high temperature. Add onion and cook until translucent.

2. Add garlic and beef. Cook the meat until it’s no longer pink (stir and separate the meat during cooking).

3. Add beans, salsa, chilies, chili powder and cumin. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and cover.

4. Cook stirring frequently for 20 to 25 minutes.

5. Serve with fresh bread and mexican tomato salad.

My extra flavorful “Twist” for this recipe: add ½ cup of semisweet chocolate chips. This will give an extra depth to the taste.

Cheers,
Victoria Paikin
