Easy Fruit Salad Recipe

easy fruit salad recipe

This easy fruit salad recipe is truly fun and easy to make. It is a real treat and the best part that you don't need to keep it in the fridge. It means, that it’s perfect for quick desserts, picnics, as well as for brunches and BBQ dinners.

2 sweet apples

1 banana

juice from ½ lemon (this keeps the salad from browning)

2 tablespoons honey or 1½ tablespoons agave syrup (you can use less or more, it depends on your taste and sweetness of the fruits)

1. I prefer to leave the skin on the apples, but my family prefers the apple skinless so do as you like.

2. Core the apple and cut the fruits to any shape and size you like.

3. In a small dish dissolve honey (or agave syrup) in lemon juice and then dress the salad.

This is really simple and basic salad and you can add to it any fruity “Twist” you like. What I mean is that you can add to it any fruit and easily add amounts as you go. My favorite and easy addition to this salad, that’s in fact sweet enough to lower the amount of honey is 1 cup of frozen diced mangos.

Another “Twist” that I use when I’m camping - I buy a can of fruit salad and then add fresh fruits like apples and oranges. Then to simplify my life I hold back ¼ cup of liquid from the can and use it instead of the lemon honey dressing.

My festive “Twist” for this salad: whipping cream. Add 2 tablespoons of whipping cream to the salad and toss well. The rest of the whipping cream I whip and serve on top of the salad. To this version of salad I add fresh berries.

Basically you can add to this easy fruit salad recipe whatever is in the season, or whatever fruits you can find.

Cheers,
Victoria Paikin
