Easy Steak Recipe

Easy Steak Recipe

Easy steak recipes are my all time favorites. Especially I love the T-bone steak.

1 - 1¼ pound (450g-550g) T-bone steak

salt, pepper to taste

1. Bring the steak to room temperature.

2. Preheat grill to hot.

3. Season the steak with salt and pepper.

4. Cook for 2 minutes on each side until each side is browned.

5. Then switch to low heat and continue to cook to medium rare for another 7-8 minutes or until an instant read thermometer inserted into the center reads internal meat temperature of 135F (60C).

6. Close with foil and leave for another 5 minutes to reabsorb the juices and finish to cook (internal temperature is going up by another few degrees after you finish to cook and only then starting to drop).

7. Serve with baked potatoes and green salad.

My flavorful “Twist” for this recipe is: Place 1 pound (454gr) of sliced mushrooms (button or medium cremini work well) on a hot skillet in the butter. Sauté on medium heat until mushrooms start to smell (2-3 minutes). Reduce the heat to low. Add ½ cup of red wine and simmer until the amount of liquid reduces to ½. Pour over the steak.

Cheers,
Victoria Paikin
