How to make donuts

by Michael
(Europe )

Ingredients:
410 g (14,5 oz) of flour
210 ml (7 oz) of milk
30 g (1 oz) of butter
2 yolks
6 teaspoons of sugar
1 spoon of spirit
1 spoon of sugar with vanilla
1 glass of powdered sugar (for icing)
2 spoons of water (for icing)
pinch of salt

Start with the dough. Take two bowls. Dissolve some yeast in milk and sugar in the first one and beat the yolks with sugar in the other. Take the third boil and fill it with wheat flour, dissolved yeast, beaten yolks, some milk, melted butter and a pinch of salt, sugar with vanilla and one teaspoon of strong alcohol, like vodka or spirit. Give it a stir and lay it down on the table. Knead the dough until it is elastic and doesn't stick to your hands, then put it into the bowl and put it away for about an hour to rise.

After that divide it into smaller pieces and form little balls. Then make holes in them and start moving around on the surface, that should make holes bigger. After that flatten them a little and leave them aside to rise some more. In the meantime turn on the deep fryer and heat the oil to about 170 degrees Celsius which is about 340 degrees Fahrenheit. Put donuts in and fry them on both sides until they golden. Then put them on a paper towel to drain off the excess oil. Let them cool down and cover them with icing made from powdered sugar and water. Add your favorite sprinkles, you can also color the icing.

Michael
